Inteplast Engineered Films (IEF) is supporting the shift to store drop-off recyclable mono-material flexible packaging by developing a full suite of films for all-polyethylene (PE) laminations, including new blown PE print layer films designed for a variety of packaging applications.

Forward-thinking brand owners and packaging converters have embraced calls from end users for more sustainable packaging options in recent years. Perhaps the most impactful initiative has been the aggressive shift away from traditionally non-recyclable, multi-material laminations towards store drop-off recyclable, mono-material constructions. This has driven innovation in the development of PE print layers and compatible PE sealant films to match, which enable packaging engineers to create recyclable designs.

Blown PE Print Webs from IEF

IEF’s blown PE print webs are designed to be an economical alternative when used as the print layer in all-PE laminations. When paired with IEF’s low seal initiation temperature (SIT) sealant webs with enhanced physical properties, packaging converters can offset much of the potential property loss and show comparable performance at significantly reduced costs in appropriate stand-up pouch applications.

IEF’s blown PE outer webs are recyclable where accepted via store drop-off recycling, and comply with the latest PFAS regulations.

IEF also offers an industry-leading portfolio of sustainable solutions via its InteGreen® family of sustainable films. The InteGreen product line is comprised of four main pillars:

  • Films with Recycled Content
  • All-PE Store Drop-off Recyclable Films
  • Store Drop-off Recycle Ready Compatibilized Films
  • Compostable Films

In addition, IEF has committed to the elimination of PFAS materials from its products and processes.
